The Ultimate Gold Coast Pre Travel Website
Gold Coast Longboard Rentals
Life for a longboard or malibu rider seems to be getting more and more difficult. To begin with, when we buy our boards, they are easily the most expensive piece of apparatus in the Surfing world. We are typically charged 30% - 50% more than our shortboarding counterparts.
Once bought though, it seems now that the travel industry has turned against us. Many airlines refuse to accept our surfboards as luggage, due to their size and the "handling complexities". And the airlines that do charge us an arm and a leg for it. One of our clients was quoted over $800 to carry an 8'6" longboard as luggage from Perth to the Gold Coast. Its the cost of a new board... its ridiculous. So this really leaves only 1 option for travelling longboarders. Longboard Hire.
One thing we've noticed on the Gold Coast, is that longboard hire tends to be more expensive than shortboard hire. Typically, hiring a longboard will cost you more than $40 a day. This we believe is also ridiculous. There is no reason why renting one type of surfboard should cost more than another. You rent time, not inches of fibreglass. Further, the general price is too high. Its a surfboard. We cannot understand why a surfboard can cost more to rent for a day, than a car does.
As such, we have one set of holiday surfboard rental prices, we do not discriminate against you because you prefer a longboard, and our weekly price range is very reasonable, no matter what board you want. We charge a little bit extra for addional services such as delivery and pick up, as these are value adding services designed to make your longboarding holiday a pleasure.
So have a look at our available longboards and let us know which one you want to book for your holiday. If there are none available, we will probably go out and purchase one, just so you can ride your board of choice. We'll do everything in our power to ensure you have the best surfing holiday of your life. Catching the waves though, well, we'll leave that to you.
